Lewtan taught me how to walk into an entirely new category of business and dive deep enough to understand the industry, as best I could, as an outsider. Being new and curious also lets you see an industry from angles the people inside it can't. That is what I hope I'm bringing to the world of CRMs and beyond at Made In Motion.
I was a consultant at Lewtan, whose web application let investors look up the ratings on asset-backed securities. I managed the re-architecture of that flagship product: the transition to the new architecture, improvements to the monitoring system investors used, and the program management to streamline how it was built and shipped.
The timing put me in the heart of the storm. Asset-backed securities were at the center of the 2008 and 2009 financial crisis, and this was the tool people used to see what the rating agencies were saying about them. To be clear, Lewtan had no part in the crisis. It reported what the agencies reported, and its job was to keep investors informed.
