A separate "CEO agent" project is also in development to handle tasks for Zuckerberg directly, and Zuckerberg himself has reportedly been spending five to ten hours a week writing code on various AI projects.

Everyone is reading this as creepy or narcissistic, which is the lazy take. The real story is that Meta is stress-testing a product it plans to sell — photorealistic executive avatars for every Fortune 500 CEO who wants to be in ten town halls at once. Zuckerberg is the alpha user, not the vanity case. The dystopian endpoint nobody inside Meta is publicly talking about is what happens when the avatar is used to deliver things like layoff notices — the Trump "you're fired" version of an AI CEO. That's speculation, but it's the direction this kind of product drifts once it exists. Expect at least three S&P 100 CEOs to ship official AI likenesses for internal communication by the end of 2027, and expect the first embarrassing deepfake lawsuit within six months after that.
