OpenAI Buys Tech Talk Show TBPN in First Media Deal

OpenAI has acquired TBPN (Technology Business Programming Network), a daily tech talk show hosted by Jordi Hays and John Coogan, averaging 70,000 viewers per episode. The show will sit within OpenAI's Strategy org under Chris Lehane, retain editorial independence, and wind down its advertising operations. It is OpenAI's first media-company acquisition.

"Editorial independence" inside a corporate parent is a promise that rarely holds at legacy media companies, and there's no reason to believe OpenAI is the exception.
