Salesforce Launches Agentforce 3.0 With Outcome-Based Pricing
What Happened
Salesforce introduced Agentforce 3.0 with a new pricing model charging per successful business outcome instead of per interaction. Definitions of "success" are configurable per workflow with customer-defined acceptance criteria. The release includes new orchestration tooling for chaining agents across Service, Sales, and Marketing Clouds.
My Take
Outcome pricing is the holy grail vendors have promised since SaaS began, and Salesforce has the data to actually attempt it. The catch: defining "resolved case" creates fierce negotiation incentives on both sides, and customer success teams will spend 2026 arguing over edge cases. But this is where AI software has to go — flat per-seat pricing makes no sense when one user can deploy ten agents. Procurement teams should start modeling AI spend as variable cost, not fixed.
