My Take
The 75% headline is dangerously misleading for execs budgeting headcount. "AI-generated" at Google still means a senior engineer defined the task, reviewed the diff, and owned the outcome — the engineer's leverage went up, not the engineer's necessity down. Companies that read this as a layoff signal will cut the people whose taste and judgment make the 75% number possible. The right read: AI doubles engineer output, so buy more senior engineers, not fewer.
